Make up our Essential Sugars
Pau d'arco: All natural anti-viral, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal agent, has been shown to be effective against candida & more. Lapachol, found in the inner bark, activates human immune cells (lymphocytes and granulocytes) in low concentrations. Lymphocytes include cells that mediate immunological reactions, such as T-cells. Granulocytes are white blood cells found in the blood that devour foreign cells and bacteria.
Olive Leaf: From research and clinical experience to date, we can say that supplemental olive leaf may be beneficial in the treatment for conditions caused by, or associated with, a virus, retrovirus, bacterium or protozoan. Among those treatable conditions are: influenza, the common cold, candida infections, meningitis, Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), encephalitis, herpes I and II, human herpes virus 6 and 7, shingles (Herpes zoster), HIV/ARC/AIDS, chronic fatigue, hepatitis B, pneumonia, tuberculosis, gonorrhea, malaria, dengue, severe diarrhea, and dental, ear, urinary tract and surgical infections.
Astragulas Root: Contains several beneficial compounds that have health-protecting benefits. These include saponins, sterols, isoflavones and polysaccharides. Astragalus herb has been traditionally used for strengthening the immune system and helping prevent bacterial and viral infections.
Liquorice: The compound glycyrrhizic acid, found in liquorice, is now routinely used throughout Japan for the treatment and control of chronic viral hepatitis. Recent studies indicate that glycyrrhizic acid disrupts latent Kaposi's sarcoma (as also demonstrated with other herpesvirus infections in the active stage), exhibiting a strong anti-viral effect. The Chinese use liquorice to treat Tuberculosis. Oregon-grape root: is commonly used as an effective alternative to the threatened goldenseal. Both plants similarly contain the alkaloid berberine, known as an anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial used in the treatment of infection. Certain extracts from Mahonia aquifolium may be useful in the treatment of inflammatory skin diseases such as eczema and psoriasis.
Echinacea Root: Echinacea is well known for its anti-viral, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, and anti-inflammatory properties. It is commonly recommended by herbalists as an agent to lessen the symptoms and duration at the onset of a cold or the flu.
Sarasparilla Root: Sarsaparilla can help decrease joint pain and itching, and can also reduce bacteria, Psoriasis, rheumatoid arthritis, kidney problems, fluid retention, digestive problems, syphilis, gonorrhea, and other conditions.
Neem Powder: Neem has been traditionally used against viral infections and the research results so far are very promising. There has been a scientific study at Johns Hopkins University in 1997 where researchers tested the effect of neem against the herpes simplex virus-2, and found it "provided significant protection".
L-Lysine: A double-blind, placebo-controlled, multicenter trial of oral L-lysine monohydrochloride for the prevention and treatment of recurrent herpes simplex (HSV) infection was conducted. The treatment group was given L-Lysine monohydrochloride tablets (1,000 mg L-lysine per dose) 3 times a day for 6 months. A total of 27 (6 male and 21 female) subjects on L-lysine and 25 (6 male and 19 female) subjects on placebo completed the trial. The L-lysine treatment group had an average of 2.4 (p less than 0.05) less HSV infections, symptoms were significantly (p less than 0.05) diminished in severity and healing time was significantly reduced (p less than 0.05). L-Lysine appears to be an effective agent for reduction of occurrence, severity and healing time for recurrent Viral infection.
Echinacea Angustifolia: Echinacea's antiseptic, antiviral and antifungal qualities help to stimulate the body's resistance to infection, diseases, fever, blood poisoning, common colds and flu.
Hyssop Powder: The volatile oil in hyssop leaves and stems has shown antibacterial and antiviral properties. Hyssop has anti-septic properties that make this herb an essential cure for treating all kinds of septic wounds, cuts and abrasions. It stops infections from developing and is known to assuage pain and inflammation too. What’s more, it is known to offer instant relief from insect bites and large wounds and stop bacteria and fungus from causing further infection.
Ashwagandha: a Mood Enhancing and Anti-anxiety Herb. The roots of Withania somnifera (WS) are used extensively in Ayurveda, the classical Indian system of medicine, and WS is categorized as a rasayana, which are used to promote physical and mental health, to provide defence against disease and adverse environmental factors and to arrest the aging process. In rodent studies ashwagandha has been shown to reduce anxiety and have positive effect on mood.
Sarsaparilla root Powder: Used to treat skin disorders, liver problems, rheumatism and hormone excesses. Sarsaparilla is excellent for chronic hepatic disorders, for venereal diseases like gonorrhea and syphilis, and for female leuchorrea, and herpes.
Oregano Powder: Oregano contains an impressive list of plant derived chemical compounds that are known to have disease preventing and health promoting properties. The herb is rich in poly-phenolic flavonoid anti-oxidants (vitamin A, carotenes, lutein, zea-xanthin, and cryptoxanthin) and has been rated as one of the plant sources with highest anti-oxidant activities. These compounds help act as protective scavengers against oxygen-derived free radicals and reactive oxygen species (ROS) that play a role in aging and various disease processes.
St Johns Wart Powder: It is thought that hypericin, pseudohypericin, and other chemicals in St. John's wort may stick to the surfaces of viruses and keep them from binding to host cells. Another theory is that St. John's wort may contain chemicals that interfere with the production or release of viral cells.
Lemon Balm Powder: Research has shown that the plant contains polyphenols, it can help significantly in the treatment of cold sores and combat the herpes simplex virus, shingles as well as other viral afflictions. Studies have shown a significant reduction in the duration and severity of herpes. Researchers also noted a "tremendous reduction" in the frequency of recurrence. When applied to cold sores or genital sores caused by the herpes simplex virus; creams or ointments containing lemon balm have speeded healing. The infections did not spread as much and individuals using topical lemon balm also reported more relief from symptoms such as itching and redness. At least part of this effect is due to antiviral properties of caffeic acid and rosmarinic acid, which are contained in lemon balm.
